1: TFT LCDs (Thin Film Transistor Technology) are supposedly the most used type of display units available in mobile devices. Its gives good image quality and higher resolutions compared to before generation LCD displays however, in narrow viewing angles and in direct artificial light or sunlight there’s poor visibility.

2: IPS LCD (In Place Switching) are the next level of TFT LCD displays providing wider viewing angles and saving power consumption which increase to a much improved battery time and life. A higher resolution (640 x 960 pixels) of IPS LCD is found an Apple iPhone 4 which is called Retina Display because of its amazing picture quality.IPS LCDs obviously are costlier than normal TFT LCD.

3: CT LCD (Capacitive Touchscreen) technology happens to have a layer of glass laced with a high transparent conductor (like indium tin oxide). When touched by human body like as finger, an interruption is born in the screens electrostatic field which is measurable as a change in capacitance and this inturn is connected by the phone’s processor or chip and which in turn will instruct the mobile operating system to trigger and event or action on command.

4: OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) happens to be the newest technology in for displays of mobiles devices. The OLED tech os concerned you will find an organic material which is placed between two conducting sheets which is called (an anode and a cathode),which are also put between a glass top plate (seal) and a glass bottom plate (substrate). The time an electric pulse passes or is applied mid two conducting sheets, electro luminescent light is produced directly from the organic material sandwiched between.

5: AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) are a different type of OLED displays for mobiles and are fast gaining popularity in top end smartphone segmentin all over the world. Its screens can show us many things that we are present on OLED display like brilliant color reproduction, light weight, good long battery life, proper attract brightness etc.

6: Super AMOLED displays take up on the AMOLED displays and are primarily developed by Korean company Samsung. Super AMOLED is manufactured with touch sensors placed on the display itself, as opposed to creating a separate touch sensitive layer (as in capacitive touch screen). This makes it the thinnest display technology on the market. Super Its displays are currently only present in Samsung devices but more phones could use the technology in the future.
